Found young cockerel, weak, starving and bloodied- think before you breed.

This sad picture is the result of careless breeding.

We all should always and quite rightly neuter our pets, but Poultry seems to be exempt, and it seems to be acceptable in our culture to breed chickens without the forethought for the Welfare of any males hatched.

Schools do it routinely, back yard keepers regularly breed, and some of these cockerels end up as this one 'dumped', he is starving and has been attacked by something that has damaged his neck, and all the vet could do is PTS.

We haven't typed this lightly obviously not all are the same, but the number of cockerels we collect backs up our post.

If you can't deal with cockerels, don't breed.
