Our eldest rescue hedgehog has begun his journey of life in the wild

Tonight our eldest rescue hedgehog has begun his journey of life in the wild. He has been with ourselves for a while now and has gained sufficient weight to give him a good start in the wild. After living in the soft release pen for a number of weeks we have observed him foraging and eating natural food along with his supplemented food, he has had his own sleeping box which has been placed in the release area this afternoon along with a supply of food.

He ventured out of his box at 10.30 pm ( Too dark for photographs ) wandered around eating a couple of worms and insects, he then returned to inside his box for 10 minutes before reappearing and then continued to rummage around eating various bugs etc. Good luck little man and your sleeping box will stay if you decide to return.
