Pheasant released after a close call with a HGV radiator.
We get a call from Aireworth Vets Pets about a male pheasant that was found by an HGV driver who noticed the bird in the Lorry’s radiator grill. He removed the bird from his radiator and transferred him to Aireworths, where he was checked over by vet Graham who noted the Pheasant appeared to be uninjured and then the practice called us.
We collected this beautiful bird and kept him 24 hrs to assess for post-traumatic shock etc., and let him settle down and have a good meal and a drink. Next morning he was ready to go so we released him near to Yorkshire Animal Welfare, where we know there is pheasant and no roads, as you can see he was pleased to be off for a second chance at life.
Good luck matey
