Woodcock grounded in strong winds needs specialist care
Before continuing its epic 700 mile journey
The first Woodcock rescue for YAWS. This little guy was blown down in the recent strong winds, landing in Ossett. He is currently being rehabbed at our Ossett site, a specialist facility and will be released as soon as possible, in order to continue his winter campaign, estimated to be around 700 miles!
At this time of year woodcocks are migrating here from Scandinavia to spend the winter and migrating numbers have been falling for a number of years according BTO research.
He certainly has an epic trip ahead of him.
